Maddux sheds pesky monkey
Jae Weong Seo only gave up four hits in his six innings of work, but two of those hits were home runs that accounted for all of the Cubs' scoring and the Mets' starter fell to 0-3 on the season. Mike Cameron clubbed a solo home run in the second inning but that was all the offense the Mets could muster.

Greg Maddux was back to his old self and notched that elusive first win of the season in a brilliant outing against the Mets. Maddux gave up one run on seven hits while fanning eight in seven innings. Moises Alou and Todd Walker each homered to drive in all the runs for the Cubs, who won their fourth straight game.
